Background

The Center for Baptist Heritage & Studies uses two purposes in our focus on Baptist heritage: “Remembering the Past. . .Imagining the Future.” These two purposes help us focus on the importance of our heritage while always holding onto the legacy we will leave for future Baptists. In the essay contest theme for 2012 you can pick someone from the past, even the distant past, whose life influenced your thinking as a Baptist or you can pick someone living today - even someone whom you personally know.  You also can incorporate into your essay how the influence of others shapes thought now and its influence upon the future.
